My father was Irish and mother Welsh.
My childhood was spent near Brecon. I won the Sotheby's International Poetry prize with the narrative poem David of the Mines, adapted into a play for young people.
My poetry publications are David of the Mines, Arvon Foundation, The Hedge, Counterpoint, and poems in children's anthologies Viking Kestrel Books. Work praised by Ted Hughes, Sir Stephen Spender on Kaleidoscope, BBC Radio, and a guest on Woman's Hour, and recently Radio Wales, the Roy Noble show.
Just completed my first children's book Efydd, Bronze Prince of Brenig.
I am available for poetry readings, working in schools, singing workshops and photographic projects. My hobbies are poetry, music,
photography, science, Wales, even sheepdog trials. I also love meringues, the company of creative people, Portugal, and South America.
I have three children and two granddaughters, and a cat called Red Kite.
